I'm a curious, life-long learner who has navigated numerous changes on my own path.
I’m a Florida native who lived in New York City for many years before relocating to Minnesota.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was trained as a biologist, and held a variety of science and health-care related positions in the academic and business worlds. I’ve always enjoyed applying my analytical skills to unravel complex problems.
I began to realize I had more to offer.
I would build relationships with friends and colleagues who would come to me to discuss issues that were affecting them both professionally, and personally. I found these interactions to be rewarding, and began exploring becoming a therapist.
Now, I help clients work toward the best version of themselves.
I aim to create a supportive environment for self-reflection and growth to help you make progress toward your personal goals.
I believe that we are all fellow travelers on this journey of life. I am honored to be part of the growth and development of my clients.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the initial phone consultation?
I conduct a brief (10 to 15 minute) free phone consultation prior to scheduling your first session.
During this introductory call, we can make sure that we are a good fit for each other. I can learn more about what you are looking for, and you can raise questions you may have about therapy or my practice.
What can I expect at the first session?
Prior to the first session, I will provide you with a few documents to review and a brief questionnaire. During the first session, I will go over some of the details within these documents to set the groundwork for our sessions.
After that, I will want to learn more about what brings you to therapy, and the specific goals you are interested in working toward.
Typically, I will then gather background information about you, aspects of your life (family, work, social), your health, and prior experiences with counseling.
From this, we can begin to develop a plan to help you work toward your goals.
How much does it cost?
I charge $175 for each 50-minute counseling session. I accept payments through HSA/FSA cards, and all major credit cards. Please contact me to learn about my rates for coaching session.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. I can provide you with a receipt which you may be able to use to access out-of-network benefits through your insurance.
How does telehealth work for therapy?
When you schedule your first appointment, I will provide you with access to a client portal that you can access from your computer, tablet, or smartphone for our secure video therapy sessions. Teletherapy allows you to access counseling services from a location of your choosing, which can allow greater flexibility and access to services.
For your sessions, you should locate a quiet, private setting, free from interruptions or distractions. If you have additional questions or concerns, we can talk about those during the initial phone consultation.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
So many good ones to choose from, but my current favorite is coffee toffee, followed closely by chocolate chip cookie dough. Thanks for asking!
